  • Baseball, softball seasons come...

    The season came to an end last Monday for both the baseball and softball team as both were eliminated from their respective 8th Region Tournaments.
    The softball team played last Monday morning and were knocked out by Collins who defeated the Lady Rebels 4-0. The Lady Titans would eventually go on to win the tournament by defeating Anderson County 6-3 in the championship game. Owen County finished the season with a record of 14-16.

    Baseball team washed out by weather
    The Owen County baseball team lost every game they had scheduled last week. Not to another team but to the weather.

  • Baseball team improves win total...

    The Owen County baseball team improved their win total by two last week. The Rebels started and ended the week victorious with a loss in between.
    The team was on the road at Villa Madonna April 24. Owen County would strike for four runs in the first innings and went on to defeat the Blue Lightning 7-1. Patrick Osborne had a three-hit game while scoring two runs. Josh Spaulding and Grant McMillen each collected two hits. Cameron McAnally pitched six innings and struck out ten to earn the win on the mound.

  • Lady Rebels score back-to-back...

    The Owen County Lady Rebels won back-to-back games on the diamond last week. The wins snapped a three-game losing streak.
    Before winning twice, the team dropped an extra-inning contest on the road in New Castle last Tuesday. Henry County got the best of the Lady Rebels, winning 6-5 in nine innings. It was the second time this season Owen County has lost a 31st District game by one run in extra innings. They also lost 2-1 in nine innings in Carrollton on March 20.

  • Lady Rebels pick up district win

    The Owen County softball team earned their first district win of the season last week.
    After dropping their 31st District opener at Carroll County earlier this season, the Lady Rebels defeated Gallatin County 9-1 last week in Owenton. It was the fifth straight win over the Lady Wildcats.

  • Walking off winners

    The Owen County Rebels only had three hits last Tuesday against Williamstown. They made the most of them.
    Grant McMillen drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Rebels picked up a 2-1 over the Demons. The win snapped a two-game losing streak and improved Owen County to 7-3 on the season.  The Rebels have now won four straight games against Williamstown.
    Cameron McAnally pitched six strong innings, allowing just four hits and striking out eight.

  • Third place finishes at NCKC...

    The Owen County track team enjoyed a successful trip to the NCKC Championships last week in Verona. Both the girls and the boys finished in third place overall.

  • Baseball takes two wins in close...

    The Owen County baseball team took a pair of contests last week from 31st District teams. Both were one-run affairs and one needed extra innings.
    The team traveled to Warsaw on Wednesday to take on Gallatin County. On March 29, 2016, the same two teams met in Owenton with the Rebels winning 12-2 in five innings. A year later they would need 12 innings to decide the outcome.
