  • 2 dead in Gallatin County shooting

    WARSAW, Ky. — An altercation between two men in Warsaw turned deadly during the early morning hours Monday.
    Gallatin County Dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 4:39 a.m., in reference to the altercation on Main Street — about 20 miles north of Owenton — according to Kentucky State Police Post 5 Trooper Steven Dykes. It was alleged that one of the men was armed with a handgun.

  • A slam-dunk for WKU

    Western Kentucky University will soon become the new home of former Running Rebels standout and 2016 Kentucky Mr. Basketball Carson Williams.
    The 6-foot-6, 230-pound forward will join the Hilltoppers after requesting a transfer from Northern Kentucky University last month, where he started 61 games over the last two seasons, averaging 12 points and 5.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore in 2017-18. He shot 60.8 percent from the field.

  • Community rallying around injured trooper

    A group of local “trooper’s wives” are banding together to create a support system for Kentucky State Police Trooper Mickey Gonterman following a tragic accident that killed one and hospitalized Gonterman with serious injuries last week.
    The accident happened in Henry County just before 7:30 a.m., April 25, when Gonterman responded to a call of dogs in the roadway at the 30-mile marker on I-71 South.
