• Charles Osborne Jr.

    Charles Osborne Jr., 66, of Lawrenceburg and formerly of Owen County, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at his residence.
    He was the son of Charles Sr. and Georgia Perry Osborne.
    Survivors include his wife Joan Osborne of Lawrenceburg.
    The funeral service was Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Cooper officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
    The visitation was held Monday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home.a

  • Mary Betty Ligon

    Mary Betty Ligon, 88, of Owenton, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Owenton Manor.
    She was the daughter of the late Aaron F. and Lucy Jane Gray Ligon.
    The family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes Wednesday, April 11, 2012, from 11.a.m to 2 p.m. The funeral services will follow at 2 p.m.
    Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.

    Donny Ray Leffler, 36, of Williamstown, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, in Williamstown.
    He was the son of Tommy Ray and Reeda Justice Leffler of Williamstown.
    Survivors include his wife Karen McCracken Leffler and his daughter, Kayla McCracken of Owenton,
    The funeral services were held Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home,
    Williamstown. Burial was in the Williamstown Cemetery.

  • John A. Piper Sr.

    John A. Piper Sr., 89, of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, March 28 2012, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence. 
    Survivors include his sons, Johnny Piper, Jr. of Independence and Dave Piper of Bethlehem; and his daughter Pam McMillin of Union.
    A Mass of Christian Burial was said Monday, April 2, 2012, at Saint Edward’s Catholic Church. Burial was in the Floral Hills Cemetery.
    McDonald & New Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

  • Dora B. Green

    Dora B. Green, 81, of Owenton, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012, at the New Horizons Medical Center.
    Surviving are her five sons, Melvin (Vicki) Green, Jerry (Vanita) Green, Larry (Patty) Green, Bill Green and Richard (Kelly) Green; and her four daughters, Susie (Frank) House, Barbara (the late Steve) Sharp, Anita (Milford) Sipple and Rhonda (Brian) Young, all of Owenton.
    The funeral services were held Friday, March 31, 2012, at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery.

    James David Vannarsdall, 66, of Carrollton, passed away at his residence, Tuesday, March 27, 2012.
    The funeral services were held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton with the Rev. Ferrill Davis officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Owenton.

    Betty J. (Klump) Zembrodt, 84, of Fort Wright and formerly of Perry Park, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at her residence in Fort Wright.
    She was the loving wife of the late Cyril C. Zembrodt; loving mother of Mary Beth Kenning of Crescent Springs and Julie Mahan–Kapur of Daufuskie Island, S.C., Joe Zembrodt of Fort Mitchell., Jerry Zembrodt of Owenton, and John “Nut” Zembrodt of Fort Wright; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

    Eugene Winkle, 87, passed away Wednesday Feb. 29, 2012, in Lexington.
    Survivors include his wife Christine Nall Winkle; his son, Barry Winkle of Owenton; and his daughter, Wanda Price of Owenton
    The funeral services were held March 3 at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes.

    Violet Marie Kent, 87, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at Owenton Manor in Owenton
    She was the wife of the late Ormal F. Kent.
    She is survived by her son, Richard Charles Kent and daughter-in-law, Beverly Burks.
    A private service will be held.
    McDonald and New is in charge of all arrangements.

  • Alma “Dickie” Dungan

    Alma “Dickie” Dungan, 91, passed away March 25, 2012, at Grant Manor in  Williamstown.
    Survivors include one son, Richard S. Davis of Owenton and one daughter, Janice Coomer of Florence.
    The funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at  1 p.m. in the Elliston – Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown. Burial will follow in the Jonesville IOOF Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends after 10 a.m. Wednesday until the funeral hour.
