A tide rises against wet petition

Citizens present over 1,000 names to fiscal court in opposition to expanded alcohol sales

A petition in favor of a wet-dry vote in Owen County began circulating last month. Subsequently,  the Owen County Baptist Association began taking action to prevent changes to the current laws against the sale of alcoholic beverages.
President of the Owen County Baptist Association and pastor of Beech Grove Baptist Church Steve Delaney presented the petition to the Owen County Fiscal Court at its regular meeting Feb. 8.
Delaney said the petition against the wet-dry vote had garnered the support of 1,028 people.
