Soccer team runs into tough week

The Owen County High School girls soccer team was in action three times last week. The Lady Rebels played twice on the road and once at home. The team lost road games at Walton-Verona and Pendleton County. The Lady Bearcats won 2-1. Ashley Byers scored the lone goal with Amber Gover getting the assist. Byers also got the only Lady Rebel goal in a 5-1 loss at Pendleton County. The senior leads the team with eight goals on the season. Owen County also dropped a 3-1 decision at home on Saturday to Ludlow. The team will be back in action Thursday in Owenton against Bryan Station.
