The Owen County High School cross-country team wrapped up its season on Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park.
The Rebels took part in the state cross-country meet.
As a team, the boys finished 12th out of 27 teams.
Owen County was led by junior Hunter Trenary who finished fourth overall. The outcome was an improvement from last season when Trenary finished eighth.
“I was very happy with the way I ran today,” Trenary said.  “(Saturday’s race) might have been the best race of the season for me.”
Cory Hudnall finished in 94th place; Kyle Flood came in 103rd; Logan Bitler, 122nd; Keith Stout, 159th; and Evan Lozier, 197th.
Since the team won’t lose anyone due to graduation, expectations should be high entering 2013.
Trenary said the future looks right for the team.
“The whole team has worked very hard this year and we will be going into next year looking to do well,” Trenary said.
Freshman Courtney Creech, who also ran on Saturday, performed well in her first state meet and finished in 47th place.
