New Liberty to celebrate county’s Bicentennial

-A A +A
By Molly Haines

The traveling Bicentennial torch will arrive at the New Liberty Christian Church Sunday, bringing with it a block-party-style gathering that is sure to bring back memories for many of the community’s older residents.
The event, set for Sunday, June 2, has been in the works for months, and organizer Dawn Davis said volunteers have worked tirelessly to ensure its success.
Davis, along with her mother, Elizabeth Prewitt, Karen Walker, Betty Lusby, Veronica Gayle, John Gayle and Donna and Dean Ward have each contributed to the organizational efforts.
