By Molly Haines

A Campbell County native and former master-at-arms in the U.S. Navy is on track to complete Kentucky’s 20-week training course for new and incoming law enforcement officers.
Upon graduating from the course in June, 29-year-old Cory Porter, who now resides just outside the city limits of Owenton with his wife, Laura, and their two daughters, is expected to fill the vacancy left at the Owen County Sheriff’s Office by former deputy Marvin Goodrich who resigned last year in good standing.
