We had an awesome day at church Sunday as God was in the House and so were new faces, then a large group of us went out to eat at Pizza Inn and the fellowship continued. Sunday night we came back together for our continued study in Ray Comfort’s study “The Way of the Master” series led by Tim Carpenter. This is our Intermediate study and practice for lifestyle evangelism and outreach.

This Friday night we go fishing for men in Frankfort. We will meet at Captain D’s at 6:30 p.m. to eat and then spread out across town. Before we left church Sunday night, we had the sweetest time of prayer as we prayed for each other’s needs and gave thanks for the things God has done for us. God is moving in such a great way.

Easter Sunrise Service is coming up on March 27. We will go up on the hill for the sunrise and a short service and then we are going to go over to Lela Maude Hawkins house to have prayer and then back to the church for a wonderful breakfast prepared by the men. We would love to have you join in our progressive worship service this Sunday. See you in church.

Owenton First Baptist Church

It was a great joy to begin the worship service with the ordinance of believer’s baptism. Our pastor then brought a message from I John on “Blessed Assurance.” We learned that the marks of a Christian include keeping His commands, loving other believers and yielding to Jesus. Sunday evening we were encouraged from Psalm 91. Check out our website at owentonfbc.com for full coverage of our services.

Be sure and bring in shoes of all sorts to help “Big Mike” with a special mission emphasis that he is leading. We are also receiving the offering for our North American Missions through March 20. The donation drive for REACH continues and we are collecting paper towels, kitchen trash bags, Lysol, Mr. Clean, copy paper and latex gloves.

The special your DNOW Weekend will be March 19 and 20. Students in grades 6-12 will need to sign up tonight.

Family Night will be at 6 p.m. tonight (Wednesday). The M3 Men’s Ministry will begin at 6:45 p.m. along with our other mission organizations.

You are encouraged to set your clocks ahead one hour this Saturday evening for the time change.

God bless you, your family and our community. See you Sunday.

Owenton First United Methodist Church

Bro. Matt’s sermon, “Knowledge, A Quality of the Spirit,” came from Matthew 26:17-29.  Jesus knows our souls and weaknesses.  He’s ready to take our weaknesses and change us.
