James Winford White, 78, of Bloomfield, died April 26, 2009, at his residence. He was retired from Kraft Foods with 25 years of service in Owenton and Berryville, Ariz., a self-employed contractor, and skilled woodworker. James was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a deacon of Chaplin Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Victor and Stella Mae Yates White; a daughter, Diann White; and a sister, Clara Cardenas.

Survivors include his wife, Ara Lou Greer White; a daughter, Cheri Lynn Hahn and husband Bill Jr. of Chaplin; two sons, James R. White and wife Sheri Dee, and John White and wife Lisa, all of Bloomfield; two brothers, Cale Ray White and wife Christine of Vine Grove, and Charlie White and wife Mary Ann of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 29, 2009, at Chaplin Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Johnson officiating. Military honors were presented at the gravesite. Burial was in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.
