Ice skating once big fun for one Branch resident, today ‘good sense’ prevails

-A A +A
By Bee Spicer

Belated happy New Year. We awoke this morning with the road and sidewalks covered in ice. We had church yesterday, and I prayed for rain. Be careful what you pray for, we had rain last night, and it immediately froze on the road, the sidewalk and the grass. Wanda said her lake was frozen over and it was thick enough to ice skate on. Kay’s Branch has been frozen for several days. It’s been anywhere from -4 degrees to 9-degrees for the past two weeks. We haven’t had rain in some time so the water in it was just selective puddles that stay in the creek.
