Hours after theft citation, woman jailed for allegedly trafficking meth

Only hours after receiving a citation for shoplifting at a local gas station, a 23-year-old female found herself behind bars June 27 on drug trafficking charges.
Owenton Policeman Gary Alcorn cited Lee Searcy of 2470 Highway 127 South, for shoplifting at the Owenton Marathon Hop Shop at 504 Main St. Policeman Clint Aldridge later observed Searcy getting into her vehicle at the Marathon gas station located at 105 S. Main St. and driving off. According to the arrest citation, Aldridge was aware that Searcy’s operator’s license had been suspended.
