Flooding causes some road closures, mudslide locally

-A A +A

While last week’s downpours wreaked havoc in Carroll County, causing schools to close Monday and Tuesday and a state of emergency to be declared due to flooding, Owen County saw only minor flooding in low-lying areas.
Officials closed roads such as Old Ky. 227, leading to Eagle Creek Drive and Eagle Creek Circle, Big Twin Creek Road and Old Landing Road Friday, though some roads were reopened as early as Friday evening.
On Monday, Ky. 355 was closed at the 16-mile marker after a mudslide occurred. The road was expected to be reopened by 11 p.m., Monday.
