Organizations encouraged to participate in Mayberry
Day Mayberry Day will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, June 16, followed by a sock hop from 6-10 p.m. Organizations are invited to take part in the event. If a charity, church or organization would like to take part, please call 502-563-5050 or email tourismdirector@owencountyky. us. Your idea must be based on the Mayberry theme, 1950s-60s rural America. Think about the Andy Griffith Show to come up with ideas.

First Baptist Church invites children to VBS
“Shipwrecked VBS” will be hosted at First Baptist Church June 18-22. Shipwrecked is for kids from 4 years old through sixth trade (based on grade just completed) and will run from 9 a.m.-noon, each day. For more information or if you need the van to pick you up, call 502-484-2430.

‘Moose On the Loose’ at Cedar Hill
Cedar Hill Baptist Church invites all 3 years old through high school aged students to attend Vacation Bible School, from 6-8:15 p.m., June 18-22. If you need a ride, call 484-5236 or 514-1194 and leave a message that includes your name and phone number.

Owen Genealogy Group to meet at Historical Society Museum
The Owen Genealogy Group will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, June 18. No registration is required. This will be an informal gathering for those interested in researching and sharing information for writing a family history. This opportunity is for beginning and seasoned genealogists to network and fellowship, or maybe an opportunity to just see if the museum has your family’s information. Youth Services, foodbank offering produce to local students
The Owen County Youth Services Center in conjunction with the Freestore Foodbank is offering a mobile produce pantry Friday, June 22, at Owen County High School. The produce pantry is open to families of the community with students enrolled in Owen County Schools. Produce is limited to 100 families. You must call to make an appointment to pick up the produce. Class of ’55 get-together
