Adding roads could lead to more residents

By Molly Haines

Homeowners on several Owen County roads could eventually have the option of becoming Owenton residents after Owenton City Council members recently agreed to add several more roads to an annexation plan.
The council had voted to begin the annexation process on several stretches of highway, including Hwy. 22 East for 1.9 miles to the new Maurice Bowling Middle School; U.S. 127 South to the ‘Welcome to Owenton’ sign; and U.S. 127 North to Old New Liberty Road.
