Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Council, in collaboration with the Owen County Library will host the FREE “It’s a Girl’s Life” Program beginning on Monday, July 2nd at the library. The program is open to all girls in the Owen County area that will be in grades K-5 in the fall of 2012. “It’s a Girl’s Life” will run for four consecutive Mondays (July 2, 9, 16 and 23rd) and lasts from 9:30-11:00 a.m. each week; if a child can’t attend all four weeks we still welcome them to join us when they can. Registrations will be accepted up to the start date and can be obtained at the Owen County Library or by contacting Girl Scout Membership Specialist, Jennifer Coogan: (800) 716-6162 or jcoogan@gswrc.org (completed registrations should be submitted to the Owen County Library).

This exciting FREE summer program was designed to give all girls in Owen County a Girl Scout experience, not just those girls fortunate enough to have been able to participate in traditional troops this passed school year. Throughout the four week program girls will have to opportunity to learn about Girl Scouting, do crafts, play games and make new friends! Each week of the “It’s a Girl’s Life” Program has its own theme:

  • Week 1: Beach Fun
  • Week 2: Space Spectacular
  • Week 3: Make New Friends
  • Week 4: Under the Sea

We’d love to have your child participate in the 2012 “It’s a Girl’s Life” Program- get her registered today!
