    The Owen County boys entered the 31st District Tournament last week looking to do something they had not done since 2012.
    A win over Gallatin County last Tuesday night would mean a trip to the district finals and a spot in the 8th Region Tournament this week. Goals by Ricardo Perez and Christian Trejo gave the team a 2-0 win over the Wildcats and kept their season alive for at least two more games.

    The season for the Owen County Lady Rebels ended in heartbreaking fashion last week in the opening round of the 31st District Tournament.
    The girls traveled to Carrollton on Wednesday night to take on Henry County. Hailey Chappell and Destinee Epperson would each score goals and the game would go to overtime tied at 2-2. The Lady Wildcats would, however scored in extra time to win the game 3-2 and end the season for the Lady Rebels.

  • Volleyball finishes season play...

    The Owen County volleyball team concluded the regular season last week.
    The Lady Rebels played their final regular season and home match of the 2015 season on Thursday night and recognized their five seniors in the process. Tori Cammack, Arielle Columbia, Bertha Aguazal, Courtney Gullion and Kirsten Parker were each honored during a ceremony before the team’s match with Heritage Academy.
    Once the match began the two teams played a hard fought, competitive match with the Eagles defeating the Lady Rebels 25-22 and 27-25.

    It was a Saturday spent in Versailles for the Owen County cross country teams as the boys and the girls took part in the Woodford County Invitational.
    The best performance of the day was put in by freshman Lucinda Beach who won the junior varsity girls race. Morrissa McPherson also placed in the top 10 as she finished eighth. Caylin Trenary was 13th, Kailey Cram 14th, Julie Herrmann 16th, Autumn Hunter 21st, Samantha Tamplin 29th, Alexia Keeton 30th, Nicole Jacobs 31st and Jessica Herrmann 33rd.

    Everything was working for the Owen County Rebels on Friday night against Trimble County. The Rebels scored touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams as they rolled past the Raiders 44-0 to pick up their third win in their last four games.
    Things began well for the home team as Ross Ford intercepted a Trimble County pass on the first play of the game. The Rebels would however turn the ball back over to the Raiders on their opening drive as well.
