  • Girls finish second at NCKC Meet

    The Owen County girls track team competed on Tuesday night at the NCKC Meet at Walton-Verona. The girls finished second overall behind the Lady Bearcats of Walton-Verona.

  • Softball shuts out Gallatin

    The Owen County Lady Rebels reached the championship game of the 31st District Tournament a season ago. In doing so they defeated Gallatin County in the semifinals and two more times during the regular season.

    The Lady Rebels picked up in 2016 where they left off last year against 31st District rivals when they hosted the Lady Wildcats last Wednesday. Owen County got on the board first in the bottom of the third and went on to win the game 5-0. Megan Wilhoite picked up the win on the mound as she held Gallatin County to four hits.

  • Baseball wins against Lloyd

    The Owen County baseball team picked up a conference victory last week against the newest member of the NCKC.

    The Rebels welcomed the Lloyd Juggernauts to Dunavent Field last Tuesday. It was the first meeting between the two schools on the diamond since the Juggernauts joined the North Central Kentucky Conference.

  • Track teams earn gold medals at...

    The track team hosted the Owen County Gold Medal Meet on Thursday night. Both the girls and the boys came out on top when the night was complete. The two teams bested Grant County, Frankfort and Carroll County.

    In the girl’s meet, Owen County finished with 118 points. Grant County was second with 59, Frankfort third with 26 and Carroll County fourth with 17. The Lady Rebels finished first in a total of twelve events.

  • 2016 Kentucky Derby Festival...

    Rebels standout Carson Williams traveled to Louisville Friday night to participate in the 2016 Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic at Freedom Hall.

    Williams also played in the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star Game Saturday at Transylvania University in Lexington. He scored 19 points.

  • Ohio – Kentucky All-Star...

    Rebels standout Carson Williams was named the Kentucky team’s MVP during Saturday’s 25th annual all-star game at Thomas More College, featuring top players from Ohio and other Kentucky schools. Williams scored 18 points during the contest. The Kentucky team fell to Ohio by two points in a 94-92 loss.

  • Rebels go 3-1 on spring break...

    It was a spring break trip to the lovely city of Madisonville for the Owen County baseball team. The Rebels enjoyed their stay, winning three of the four games they played.

    Last Tuesday, the team had no problems with Webster County as the Rebels dismantled the Trojans 13-0 in five innings. Michael Dunaway picked up the win on the mound allowing just three hits while striking out nine batters. Austin Fitzgerald drove in four runs while Grant Cobb scored three times.

  • Lady Rebels begin 31st District...

    After a tough weekend in Cynthiana the Owen County softball team is getting ready to open up play in the 31st District this week.

    The Lady Rebels will get started today as they host Gallatin County. Owen County defeated the Lady Wildcats three times last season. The third win came in the semifinals of the 31st District Tournament. Overall the Lady Rebels were 7-3 against district competition in 2015.

  • Osborne enjoying senior baseball...

    The University of the Cumberlands is enjoying success this season thanks to a pair of Owen County alums.

    Their head coach, Brad Shelton, just became the school’s all-time winningest coach while senior Stone Osborne is finding success both in the field and at the plate.

  • Softball ends regular season...

    The Owen County softball season wrapped up the regular season last week.

    The team finished the year with a pair of home games against Grant County and Williamstown. The Lady Rebels would win both of them.

    The team hosted Grant County last Monday. Owen County got a complete game on the mound from Megan Wilhoite winning 4-2 over the Lady Braves. Blair Harris knocked in two runs and scored one while Kaitlyn Parker scored one and drove in a run. Baileigh Young also scored a pair of runs in the victory.
