Children’s Fund Celebrates 35th Anniversary
On Feb. 6, the Owen County Children’s Fund celebrated 35 years of service to Owen County children. Organized in 1982, the Children’s Fund has expended over $100,000 aiding children in the areas of medical, dental, food and clothing.
“It all started with a desire to help needy children,” Michael Ramsey, long-time fund treasurer, said.
Anyone wishing to apply for services (children birth to 18) may do so by calling Janetta Briscoe, Family Resource Center, at 484-4014.
Monterey Baptist Church
The church is hosting a family Valentine’s party at 6 p.m., Saturday. Come and bring a friend.
A family movie night will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 4. The movie “The Trolls” will be shown.
Wednesday night has something for all ages. The Rock Stars (children) meet in the sanctuary, the men’s Bible study meet in the fellowship hall and the women’s Bible study meet in the youth room. All begin at 7 p.m. If there is no school on Wednesday, there will be no Rock Stars that night.
God’s love is shining! “Angels Among Us” was joyfully sung by Barry Winkle. “And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three: but the greatest of these is love,” I Cor. 13:13. Jesus’ love is warming the hearts of the lost and great things are happening at Mt. Pleasant! The prayers of the faithful are being answered! James Goodrich accepted the Lord as His Savior and came forward Sunday morning! Remember to pray for all of our new Christians!
