Isaac L. Goemaat, 1994, third-degree complicity burglary, complicity theft by unlawful taking, adopted plea agreement.

Williams shines at tournament

Hoop Dreams 15U AAU basketball team won the Nike Memorial Day Classic Tournament held in Atlanta.  After winning the prestigious tournament, the team rose to sixth place in the nation by Five Star Power Rankings.  Members of the team include (back row, left to right) Logan Ziegler, Carson Williams, Malik Dow, Montrell Dixson, and Zac Pulliam; (Front row, left to right) Coach Mike Scott, Will Hager, Malik Manica, Jordan Perry, Quentin Goodin, and asst. coach Wooten.

Softball players grab postseason...

The Owen County High School softball team recently handed out its postseason awards.
Sophomore Shelby Gambrell had a big year for the Lady Rebels. She led the team in hits with 38 and triples with five. She also led the squad with 25 runs scored and 28 stolen bases.
Senior Katelyn Sutherland also either led or was tied for the team lead in several categories. Sutherland finished with the most doubles (six), home runs (six) and total bases with 55.
Sutherland and Lynsey Farrar also tied for the most walks with 11.

Horace Dawson

Horace Dawson, 77, of Versailles and a native of Owenton, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013.
Survivors include his wife Bonnie Dawson; his daughters, Becky (Gary) Hockensmith of Frankfort, Barbara (John) Boren of Versailles, and Heather (Eric) Schneider of Indiana.
The funeral services were held Friday, June 7, 2013, at the Clark Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
