Rebels run in Danville

It was another busy Saturday for the Owen County track teams. The boys and the girls traveled to Danville to take part in the 12th Annual E.G. Plummer Invitational. The meet was held at Admiral Stadium at Danville High School.
The girls had several strong performances. Danielle Hoop finished seventh and Rachel Dauwe came in 14 in the 100 Meter Dash. The same two also ran well in the 200 Meter Dash with Hoop placing seventh and Dauwe finishing 13th. Hoop continued her solid day with a second place finish in the 400 Meter Dash with Dauwe placing 11th. Hoop was not finished running well as the freshman placed third in the 800 Meter Run. Kelsey Johnson ran fifth in the 100 Meter Hurdles.
In the field events, sophomore Samantha Payton performed well. Payton placed 11th in the Shot Put and eighth in the Discus Throw. In the Javelin Throw it was Kelsey Johnson who finished fifth and Payton who finished 10th.
The boys also had some good performances. Daniel Donwe finished seventh in the 100 Meter Dash with Dylan Heard coming across in 10th. Donwe again ran well in the 200 Meter Dash with a ninth place finish. Josh Alford finished 13th. In the 400 Meter Dash it was Billy Payton and Dillon Mears who finished 12th and 13th. Adam Bruner ran well in the 110 Meter Hurdles finishing fifth. Dylan Hearn placed fifth in the 300 Meter Hurdles with Alford coming in sixth. The 4x100 meter relay team of Daniel Donwe, Dylan Hearn, Adam Bruner and Justin Davis placed seventh. The same four then placed seventh in the 4x200 Meter Relay.
Keith Arntoff finished ninth in the Shot Put. Josh Alford would place second in the Discus Throw with Arntoff placing seventh.
The team will be back in action on Thursday as they run at Henry County. They will then take part in the Walton-Verona All “A” Classic on Saturday in Verona.
