When Dave Williams began his business, Cornerstone Edging, in 2007 it was with the intent to save enough money to send his children to college. Two years later, he’s not only helping build his children’s  future, but he’s also teaching them that hard work can be rewarding.

Cornerstone Edging offers a variety of landscape trim as well as patio walkways in many different patterns and colors.

Williams said landscape trim is popular in Florida and that’s where he and his 16-year-old son, Trevor, were trained.

June 13 is a very special day in the history of African-Americans. It was situated in a week that was set aside to recognize that our community is no longer segregated, but unified in an attempt to become viable members of society and to recognize the accomplishments of local communities.

It was befitting on this special day that the First Annual Two Mile Road Reunion was held on the Gayle and Branom properties.

Two weeks have passed since thousands of people visited Owen County for the 2009 U.S. Open Sporting Clays Championship, but the event is still a popular topic among many and its success will be remembered for years to come.

The event took place during the week of June 23-28 at Elk Creek Hunt Club. Shooters from all over the continental United States, as well as some from Canada, participated in the event.

Elk Creek Hunt Club manager Gary Kathman said the event turned out to be a complete success.
