    Perfection; Rebels wrap regular season undefeated

    Friday night at Patterson Field was about one word---perfection.
    The fireworks were loaded and the T-shirts had been bought. All that was needed was for the Rebels to hold up their end of the bargain and finish the job they had started back in August.
    They did not disappoint.
    In the final regular season game of 2011, Owen County lit up the scoreboard against Ludlow, sort of. They made history by defeating the Panthers, 44-12.

    Moving ahead in education: Owen one of only 22 Kentucky districts to reach progress goal

    The Owen County School District has something to celebrate  after making “adequate yearly progress” under the No Child Left Behind Act for the second year in a row.
    The district was one of only 22 of the 174 districts in the state to make AYP, which is calculated by the results of the Kentucky Core Content Test.
