    The annual Christmas ornament commissioned by the Friends of the Library for their annual fundraiser is available in the library. This year’s ornament was created by Ellie Petzinger and is a ceramic depiction of our logo. A great gift for someone who loves the library.
    December is amnesty month. As our gift to you, we ask that you bring back any overdue books and you will have your late fees wiped out. Merry Christmas!

  • Perry Park man reportedly suffers third-degree burns

    A Perry Park resident is being taken to the University of Cincinnati Hospital after he reportedly received third-degree burns earlier today.
    New Liberty Fire Chief Greg Davis responded to the scene at 155 Green Meadow Drive after a man attempted to burn leaves in his yard. Davis said the man was wearing a "highly flammable, slick jogging suit."
    "He was talking with us very coherent," Davis said. "(The burns) didn't appear to be anything really deep except for his hands."

  • Single-vehicle crash claims 2 lives Friday

    A single-vehicle crash claimed the lives of two Owen County residents Friday.
    Kentucky State Police Post 5 Campbellsburg received a call from an injury accident around 9:20 p.m. Owen County Sheriff’s Deputies Marvin Goodrich and Daniel Tracy were the first to arrive on scene at the Greenup Road entrance to Lucas Lane, where they found a black 2013 Chevy Impala resting on its top.

  • KSP seeking information on damages to Severn Creek bridge

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced last week that the Highway 355 bridge over Severn Creek could remain closed until spring 2018 after the bridge received significant structural damage last month.
    The bridge was originally given a weight restriction, though engineers inspecting the bridge decided to close it shortly after due to multiple vehicles violating the weight requirement posted on the bridge, according to a transportation cabinet news release.

  • iLEAD Academy students to set up shop for Christmas

    Pop up shops are becoming a new trend as businesses and organizations set up shop at various locations for only a day or two. While a majority of these shops pop up in bigger cities, one will be bringing Christmas spirit closer to home.
    iLEAD Academy is an ever-growing career academy that aims to help students achieve college and career readiness. Along with helping students inside the classroom, iLEAD Academy is also looking for more ways to help students outside of the classroom.

  • Friday crash claims 2 lives

    A single-vehicle crash claimed the lives of two Owen County residents Friday.
    Kentucky State Police Post 5 Campbellsburg received a call of an injury accident around 9:20 p.m. Owen County Sheriff’s Deputies Marvin Goodrich and Daniel Tracy were the first to arrive on scene at the Greenup Road entrance to Lucas Lane, where they found a Chevy Malibu resting on its top.

  • Eagle Creek man jailed after deputies seize meth

    A 53-year-old Eagle Creek man is behind bars after two Owen County Sheriff’s deputies seized over two grams of meth and paraphernalia from the man’s home.
    The sheriff’s office received information on a subject possibly making or trafficking in meth, according to deputy Marvin Goodrich.
    Goodrich, along with deputy Daniel Tracy and Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Meredith, went to the residence of David Wilkerson at 680 Eagle Creek Circle Nov. 24.
