With the purchase of land and exterior designs being approved, the ball is rolling for the Owen County Public Library’s new facility.
The library board purchased 4.3 acres on Hwy. 22 East near the Hi-Y-Inn.
The property was owned by Blue Moon Investors and was sold to the library for $175,000.
Owen County Public Library Director Jennifer Nippert said buying property and having some paperwork signed is a huge relief.
The library board held a public meeting Oct. 23 when architect Monica Sumner presented an exterior design for the library.
