Come join us Wednesday, beginning June 1, for body and mind fitness programs. Plus kids get free fair tickets again this year for keeping a reading log. Summer fun is going to be cool at the library this year.

    The monthly meeting of the Owen County Republican Party will be at 6 p.m., Thursday at the Smith House Restaurant. Phil Pratt is expected to speak.

    OCYSL accepting nominations for board of elections

    The Owen County Youth Soccer League is accepting nominations for upcoming board elections. If you or someone you know is interested in serving, please contact Brittany Craig-Kraemer at (502) 514-5126 to submit a name. The deadline for nominations is May 27.

    We are celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss at the library. Drop in anytime between Feb. 24-26 for rotating crafts activities, Suess style. Help us celebrate one of our most favorite children’s authors.

    We are also planning a field trip from the library to the Friendly Market in northern Kentucky for March 9. The proprietors of the businesses there will be on hand to share their knowledge of spices, fine olive oils, meats and teas with us.

    Learn With Us!

    The February Learn With Us! will be “Keys to Embracing Aging.” The program will be held at 1:30 p.m., today (Wednesday), at the Owen County Extension Office.

    Aging is an inevitable and unavoidable process that affects everyone uniquely. This interactive program highlights 12 keys aimed at helping you grow old gracefully, successfully and with increased longevity, based primarily on findings from centenarian studies and the advice from those who participated.
