    Leadership Owen County to begin soon

    If you would like to participate in Leadership Owen County 2016, it will begin Feb. 5-6.

    School board to meet Jan. 19

    The Owen County School Board Meeting will be moved to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Owen County Upper Elementary School. The regular board meeting fell on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and therefore is being moved to the following day.

    MOOC is here! That stands for Massive Open Online Course and represents a new way to learn, to connect and to grow. Online courses are available aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web. It is a model for delivering learning content online to any person who wants to take a course, with no limit on attendance. The library staff will also be offering discussion groups for four courses of our choosing.

    Free Saturday for December will be Dec. 19. The transfer station will be closed Dec. 25 for Christmas and Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.
