  • Jerry Lee Williamson

    Jerry Lee Williamson, a Warsaw resident, died August 22, 2008, at his daughter’s home at the age of 56. He was born in Gallatin County, the son of Paul and Betty Boaz Williamson. He drove a gas delivery truck for Lykins Oil and was a member of the Paint Lick Baptist Church.

  • Donald Ray Fields

    Donald Ray Fields, 62, of Troy, Ohio, died on Aug. 24, 2008, at Harborside Health Care Center in Troy. He was born on April 12, 1946, in Covington, to the late Andrew Jackson and Helen Marie (Hamilton) Fields. His wife of 37 years, Nancy F. (Good) Fields, survives.

  • Nora Mae Lee Parker

    Nora Mae Lee Parker, 66, of Williamstown, died August 22, 2008, in her home. Born March 20, 1942, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late James Clifford and Mary Hearn Lee. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth L. Parker of Owenton and Michael J. Parker of Williamstown; two daughters, Peggy Coleman of Williamstown and Judith Macy of Bedford, Ind.; two sisters, Betty Jackson of Falmouth and Janet Stephens of Dry Ridge; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held August 26, 2008, at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Hill officiating.

  • Jeffrey Lee Jones

    Jeffrey Lee Jones, 42, of Corinth, died Oct. 21, 2008, at his residence. He was a farm laborer.

    He is survived by his father, Garfield Jones of Corinth; his mother, Donna Glenn of Warsaw; his grandfather, Lloyd T. Wilson of Bedford; and four brothers, James R. Jones of Corinth, John G. Jones of Corinth, Ron W. Jones of Williamstown, and Chris B. Jones of Corinth.

    Funeral services were held Oct. 24, 2008, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth with the Rev. Quintin McNabb officiating. Burial was in New Columbus Cemetery.

  • Carol S. Carnes Pennington

    Carol S. Carnes Pennington, 67, of Owenton, died Oct. 20, 2008. Born Oct. 25, 2008, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Amy Marie Blair Carnes. Carol was a dietary cook at New Horizons Medical Center for 25 years and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

    She is preceded by a daughter, Karen Ray Pennington; a sister, Vivian Isaacs; and two brothers, Horton and Homer Carnes.

  • Patricia Ann Gibson

    Patricia Ann Gibson, 72, a resident of Owenton, died Oct. 20, 2008, at her home. Born June 1936, she was the daughter of the late Edison C. Stitts and Edith M. Beckett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William R. Gibson, and a sister, Betty Howard.

    Pat is survived by a daughter, Melodye Gibson of Cincinnati; one brother, Charlie Stitts of Indiana; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held Oct. 24, 2008, at McDonald & New Funeral Home with the Rev. David Wotier officiating. Burial was in Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

  • Stephen Randall Ayres

    Stephen Randall Ayres, 59, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Aug. 21, 2008. Born June 19, 1949, in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Gerald Thomas and Norma Marie Eads Ayres. He was a former butcher and a long time social member of the VFW Post 1042 in Elmwood Place, Ohio. He was also a 1968 graduate of Owen County High School and attended Millersburg Military Institute.

  • Joseph Wayne Beatty

    Joseph Wayne Beatty, 63, of Louisville, died Oct. 21, 2008, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville following a long illness.

    Born in Louisville, he graduated from Millersburg Military Institute and Western Kentucky University. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon men’s Fraternity, the NRA, Tenure and Kentucky Public Retirees. He was a former principal at Monterey School in Owen County.

  • Betty Jean Thomas Johnson

    Betty Jean Thomas Johnson, 76, died Oct. 27, 2008.

    Born Oct. 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Dowell and Gertrude Thomas of Holbrook. She is survived by four sons, Jackie Leonard Johnson of Corinth, Robert Allan and Randal Thomas Johnson both of Owenton, and Gary Gene Johnson of Georgetown; two brothers, Charles Ross Thomas of Wilmore and Albert Clyde Thomas of Williamstown; a sister, Katherine Lucille Harris of Jonesville; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

  • Loith Gifford Harlow

    Loith Gifford Harlow, 87, of Owenton, passed away Oct. 26, 2008, at Georgetown Community Hospital.

    Born March 12, 1921, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late E.M and Ida Lanham Gifford and the widow of Lyle C. Harlow. Mrs. Harlow was a retired hairdresser and a member of Owen County Homemakers and Owenton First Baptist Church.
