  • Mary Betty Baldwin

    Mary Betty Baldwin, 91, died Nov. 17, 2008, at her home in Newhall, Calif. Born July 8, 1917, to Roy and Jessie Roland of Owenton, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John Howard Baldwin; a sister, Alma Jean Allnutt; and a brother, Roy Cecil Roland. She is survived by a son, Billy H. Baldwin of Newhall, Calif.; a daughter, Bonita Sue Mayne of El Cajon, Calif.; a sister, Thelma Marston of Owenton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    A memorial service will be conducted in Newhall, Calif., on Nov. 28, 2008.

  • Donald Ray Cornman

    Donald Ray Cornman, age 70 and a resident of Owenton, passed away Monday, Nov. 10th in Lexington, KY. Born September 1938, he was the son of the late Clarence Cornman and Anna Mary Poland Cobb. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Ty Cobb; one daughter Debbie Cornman, two sisters: Delores Parrish and Norma Riels and two brothers: Cyrus Cobb and Ronald Cornman.

    Don was an avid golfer and retired employee of Owen Electric. He was also a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Army.

  • Mary Louise Boone, 87, died Nov. 6, 2008, in Panama City, Fla.

    She was the daughter of Guy Dewey and Mary Green Ayres. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Thomasson; a sister, Aileen Gentry; two grandchildren, Edward Thomasson III and Barbara Clark; and four great-grandchildren.

    Graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. Joe Kindoll at 2 p.m. Nov. 24, 2008, in New Liberty.

  • Glenn McPherron, 69, of Livingston, died Nov. 9, 2008, in Falmouth. He was born in Owen County on Feb. 24, 1939, the son of the late William and Margaret Osborn McPherron.

  • Phyllis Ann Smith

    Phyllis Ann Smith, 61, of Lockport died Nov. 9, 2008 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    Born January 2, 1947, in Henry County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Thomas and Rosie Mae Tharp Chadwell. Phyllis was a homemaker and member of Gratz Baptist Church

  • Jeanette Kelly O’Connor

    Jeanette Kelly O’Connor, 88, of Warsaw, died Nov. 7, 2008, at Gallatin Health Care. She was the daughter of the late Wilbert and Heatha Ryle Kelly. She was the wife of the late Chester O’Connor. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Kelly; and two sisters, Gladys Anderson and Thelma Osting. Jeanette was the former owner of O’Connor Nursery. She was a member of Warsaw Baptist Church.

  • William Bruce Seal

    William Bruce Seal, 78, of Dry Ridge, formerly of Owenton, died Nov. 9, 2008, at his residence. He was a retired manager for Square D Corp in Lexington and Florence. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church, Williamstown and a Korean War Navy veteran.

    He is survived by his wife, Geneva Mason Seal; a stepdaughter, Devonda Munson of Dry Ridge; four daughters, Cheryl Lynn Buffin, Mary Mitchell Seal and Nan Lee Brown, all of Nicholasville, and Jerri Ann Klatterbuck of Garrard County; one son, Scott Seal of Mercer County; and several grandchildren.

  • Billy Wayne Glass

    Billy Wayne Glass, 47, of Bagdad died Sept. 22, 2008.

    A native of Owen County, he worked for the Finance Cabinet and attended Peaks Mill Christian Church.

  • Dave William Wright

    Dave William Wright, 82, died Oct. 31, 2008, at Grant Manor Health Care Center, Williamstown. He was the son of Clarence and Mary Jones Wright. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Knoxville Baptist Church, Dry Ridge.

    He is preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Wright and Delbert Wright; a sister, Frances Clifton Alexander; and two grandchildren, Michael Wright and Lisa Kelley-Hunter.

  • Doris Mann

    Doris J. Mann, 73, of Dry Ridge, died Oct. 27, 2008, at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center.

    She was the daughter of the late Buford and Anna Mae Riggs Bohannon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sherman Full Gospel Assembly.

    She is survived by her sons, William Mann of Owenton and Robin Mann of Dry Ridge; her daughter, Paula Jane Sullivan of Dry Ridge; her sister, Mae Sheldon of Harriman, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    A graveside funeral service was held Oct. 30, 2008, in Jonesville Cemetery with Bro. Floyd Race presiding.
