  • Charles (Buddy) Ayres

    Charles (Buddy) Ayres, 82, husband of Jane Yancey Ayres, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012.
    He was born Dec. 8, 1929, the son of the late Pauline Bishop Ayres.
    A member of the First Baptist Church, Owenton, he was a retired 35 year employee of the Kentucky Department of Highways.

  • Kenneth Woodyard

    Kenneth E. Woodyard, 88, of Owen County, passed away Thursday,  Nov. 1, 2012. at his home.
    He is survived by his wife, Hazel Jones Woodyard; two daughters, Barbara Dunaway and Cynthia Kay Rudd of Owen County; and one son, Bryan Woodyard of Astor, Fla.
    The funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth. Burial was in the New Columbus Cemetery in Owen County.
     

  • Nathan Stewart

    Nathan T. “Tommy” Stewart, 57, of Dry Ridge, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30. 2012, at home.
    He is survived by his mother, Ruby A. Stewart of Dry Ridge; and one sister, Bridget Maddox of Owen County.
    The funeral services were held Nov. 2. 2012, at Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge. Burial was in the Jonesville Cemetery.
     

  • James R. Hudnall

    James R. Hudnall, 79, of Owen County, passed away Nov. 3, 2012, at the Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.
    Survivors include his wife, Margaret Godman Hudnall; his son, Greg (Melissa) Hudnall; and his daughter, Janet (Christopher) Hudnall Thorn.
    The family will receive friends at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. The funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
     

  • Ann Dawson Gaines

    Ann Dawson Gaines, 82, of Madison, Ind., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Ind.
    Ann entered this life on Dec. 12, 1929, in Owenton. She was the loving daughter of the late Marvin and Frances Hancock Dawson. She was raised in Owen County and graduated in 1948 from Owenton High School.

  • Robert Ford Kemper

    Robert Ford “R. F.” Kemper, Jr., 91, of Versailles and formerly of Owen County, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, in Lexington.
    Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Kemper of Versailles, Carla Johnson (Steve) of Frankfort and Robbie Baldwin (Tony Rice) of Versailles.
    The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m.,  at the Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home in Versailles.

  • Ward Smith

    Ward Marston Smith, 95, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at the Owenton Manor.
    She is survived by a son, John (Debbie) Smith.
    The family received friends at the Seminary Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012,  from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Burial was in the Monterey Cemetery.

     

  • Gabriell Nicole Perry

    Gabriell Nicole Perry, 2, passed away on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012.
    She is survived by her mother, Katherine Irene Perry; her big sister Jayden McKenzie Bevis; and her big brother, Dakota Seth Bevis.
    The family received friends at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m.
    Burial was in the Mount Hebron Cemetery.

    “C.B.” Marston, 93, of Owenton passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at his residence.

  • Roy Hicks

    Roy Hicks, 84, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at his home.
    He is survived by his wife, Shirley McBee Hicks; two sons, Roy Earnest Hicks and James Ray Hearn; and one daughter, Belinda Kathy Beach.
    The funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw.
