  • Jessie Ray O’Banion

    Jessie Ray O’Banion, 72, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Owenton Manor.
    Born July 25, 1940 in Owen County, he was the son of Melvin O’Banion, who survives, and the late Florence Elmo Wainscott O’Banion.
    Mr. O’Banion was a retired farmer and was preceded in death by his siblings, Anna Lou Caldwell and David O’Banion.

  • Carl Eugene Henage

    Carl Eugene Henage, 62, of New Columbus,  passed away Dec. 25, 2012, at home.
    He was retired from General Motors and a member of the New Columbus Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. 
    He was preceded in death by his parents, J. W. and Mildred Nicholson Henage and by a brother, Roger Henage. 

  • Clinton K. “Bubby” Kemper Jr.

    Clinton K. “Bubby” Kemper, Jr., 92, of New Liberty, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the New Horizons Medical Center.
    He was the son of the late Clinton and Lula Lucas Kemper.
    Survivors inlcude his wife, Marie Sparrow Kemper and his son, Don Kemper.
    The funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes.
    Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery.
     

  • Lena Hunter

    Lena Hunter, 88, of Owen County, passed way Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.  
    Mrs. Hunter was born in Lusby Mill to the late John and Nancy Howard Duncan.   She was a homemaker, farmer and member of the New Columbus Baptist Church.  She was a longtime member of the Owen County Homemakers. 
    She was the widow of Robert J. Hunter. 

  • John Robert Stephenson

    John Robert Stephenson, passed away Dec. 8, 2012, after a long illness.
    He was the son of Leslie and Lucy “Marston” Stephenson. Born July, 1930 in Owen County, he was a graduate of Owenton High School in 1948.
    He is preceeded in death by his wife Barbara (O’Banion) Stephenson.

    Dale Manley passed away on Nov. 30, 2012, at Quaker Heights Care Community in Waynesville, Ohio.

  • Atmore Abrams

    Atmore Abrams, 87, widower to Doris Luttrell Abrams, passed away Sat. Dec.8, 2012, at his home.
    He was born March 4, 1925, in Owen County to the late Franklin Wolf and Hallie Bramlett Abrams. He was a farmer, a former heavy-equipment operator, a member of Monterey Masonic Lodge and a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
    He is survived by two sons; Gary (Elizabeth) Abrams of Lexington, and Kenny (Peggy) Abrams of Frankfort; four grandchildren, Kim Murray and Jeff Abrams of Frankfort, Gary Dean Abrams of Winchester, Lisa Lackey of Lexington; and nine great-grandchildren.

  • James Smith

    James M. “Jimmy” Smith, 76, of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the Masonic Home in Shelbyville.
    Survivors include his wife, Helen McDonald Smith and his daughter, Debbie (Carey) Tichenor of Versailles.
    The funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Main Street location of the McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Burial was in the Monterey Cemetery.

  • Harold Perkins

    Harold Perkins, 89, of Owenton, passed away Wednesday Nov., 14, 2012, at the Florence Park Care Center.
    Born July 13, 1923 in Owenton, he was the son of the late Brish and Dollie Baker Perkins. Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Edward Perkins, Lucille Beverly, Helen Towles, and Dorothy Davis.

  • Joan Carole Judy Littrell

    Joan Carole Judy Littrell, 72, of Owen County, died at her residence on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012.
    She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Littrell.
    A visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Main Street location of McDonald and New Funeral Homes with Gene Roberts and Mark Judy officiating.
    She will be interred in the Owenton Cemetery.
