    Lori Taylor Powers, 49, of Owenton, lost her battle with cancer on March 15, 2012, at New Horizons Medical Center in Owenton Kentucky, while surrounded by family.

  • Frances Lafferty Elmore

    Frances Lafferty Elmore, 85, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital’s Hospice Center in Edgewood.
    She was the daughter of the late Glenna Farrar and Charles Robert Lafferty, Sr. She was the widow of the late Robert Thompson Elmore, Jr.
    Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery North in Williamstown.
    McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
     

  • Thelma Louise Netter Branom

    Thelma Louise Netter Branom, 76, of New Liberty, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the Baptist East Hospice Unit in Louisville.
    She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Jane Bond of Louisville, Charlotte Jean Childs of Louisville and Pamela Jo Lawrence of New Liberty; and one son, Lewis Ellis Branom of Columbus, Ind.
    The funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the New Liberty Second Baptist Church, starting at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church, starting at 11 a.m. on the day of the funeral.

    Lois Ashcraft VonBokern, 73, of Owen County, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the Select Specialty Hospital at St. Elizabeth in Fort Thomas.
    Survivors include her husband Bernard VonBokern; her sons, Mark (Cheryl) VonBokern of Lafayette, Colo., Daniel (Delia) VonBokern of San Benito, Texas; and her daughters, Julie Lukehart of Owenton and Rebecca (Tom) Badia of Independence.

  • Dorothy Abbott King

    Dorothy Abbott King, 78 of Williamstown and formerly of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012,  at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.
    She was the widow of the late Wilburn Arthur  King.
    Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Williams of Williamstown
    The funeral services were held Monday, March 12, 2012, at the Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.
    Burial was in the Carrollton IOOF Cemetery.
     

  • Linda Carol Hawkins Miller

    Linda Carol Hawkins Miller, 64, of Mount Juliet, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2012.
    Survivors include her husband, Gene; her sons, Jeff (Cindy) Miller and Kyle (Kayla) Miller; and her daughter, Gena (Andy) Rutherford.
    The funeral services were held Saturday March 10, 2012, in the Hermitage Funeral Home in Old Hickory, Tenn.

    Kathleen Morgan Reed, 90, of Owenton, passed away Friday, March 3, 2012, at the New Horizon Medical Center.
    She was the wife of the late Jimmy Reed.
    She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kay (Everett) Morgan Hawkins and Margo (Don) Karsner
    The funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Home. Burial was in the Wheatley Cemetery.
    The visitation was held Monday at the funeral home.

    Jolene Ferguson, 69, of Dry Ridge, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Georgetown.
    Survivors include her husband, Johnny H. Ferguson of Dry Ridge; two daughters, Kim Parr of Corinth and Madeline Walker of Georgetown; and a son, Greg Stubbs of Cynthiana.

    Lois Evelyn Clemons of Owenton passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Owenton Manor.
    Born Dec. 29, 1921 in Clark County, Ill. to the late Robert Ledger and Goldie Ionia Clark, she was a loving and giving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

  • Norman Ray Baldwin

    Norman Ray Baldwin, 73,  of Frankfort and formerly of Owenton, passed away Jan. 30, 2012, at his home.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary Baldwin; a daughter, Karen (Steven) Criswell; and a son, Kevin Baldwin.
    The funeral services were held Feb. 2, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Frankfort.
    The LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home of Frankfort was in charge of all arrangements.
