  • Christine Virginia Gordy Burton

    Christine Virginia Gordy Burton, 83, of Owenton, passed away Sunday April 29, 2012.
    She was the daughter of the late Archie and Stella Lusby Gordy.
    She was the widow of Henry Burton.
    The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery in West Liberty.
    The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral hour at the funeral home.

     

  • Charles Wilson

    Charles W. Wilson, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.
    He was the son of the late Howard and Ophelia Plum Wilson and the widower of Bernice Baldwin Wilson.
    Survivors include his son, Larry Wilson.
    Private services will be observed.
    McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.

  • Tommy Miller

    Thomas Gayle “Tommy” Miller, 76, of Owenton, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012, at the Owenton Manor.
    He was the son of the late Robert “Bob” and Katherine Long Miller.
    Survivors include his children, Tommy Miller, Jr., Dale Miller, Doug Miller, Gene Miller and Donna Miller, all of Owenton.
    The funeral services were held April 12 at the Seminary Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery.
     

  • Sara Elizabeth (Betty) Galloway

    Sara Elizabeth (Betty) Galloway

    On April 8, 2012, Sara Elizabeth (Betty) Ellis Galloway passed away in Richland, Wash.
    Betty was predeceased in death by her husband the Rev. Dr. Edward D. Galloway, who passed in 1970. Edward and Betty were married in 1945.
    Betty was born Feb, 9, 1919, in Owen County to Ernest Ellis and Maude Roland Ellis. Maude also died on an Easter Sunday.

  • Donny L. Minch

    Donny L. Minch, 53, of Perry Park, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center.
    He was the son of the late William Allen and Augusta Gulley Minch.
    Survivors include his daughter, Autumn Minch.
    A memorial service will be held April 18, 2012, at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes.

  • Elwood Lee

    Elwood Lee, 80, of Owenton, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Grant Manor Health Care in Williamstown.
    Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Lee, of Owenton; a daughter, Debra Linsday of Harpursville, N.Y.; and three sons, William Lee of Owenton, David Lee of Canton, Ga. and Brian Lee of Harpursville, N.Y.
    A celebration of life will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the American Legion in Harpursville, N.Y.
    Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home of Dry Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

    Thomas Glenn Scott, 55. of Stanton, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at his residence.
    Born Jan. 20, 1957, in Mount Sterling, he was the son of the late Geneva Townsend Scott. Also preceding him in death was his granddaughter, Madison.
    Mr. Scott was a mechanic for both Montgomery Brothers Trucking and Crabtree Trucking. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

    Charles Osborne Jr., 66, of Lawrenceburg and formerly of Owen County, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at his residence.
    He was the son of Charles Sr. and Georgia Perry Osborne.
    Survivors include his wife Joan Osborne of Lawrenceburg.
    The funeral service was Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Cooper officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
    The visitation was held Monday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home.a

    Mary Betty Ligon, 88, of Owenton, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Owenton Manor.
    She was the daughter of the late Aaron F. and Lucy Jane Gray Ligon.
    The family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes Wednesday, April 11, 2012, from 11.a.m to 2 p.m. The funeral services will follow at 2 p.m.
    Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
