  • Delmar Moore Jr.

    Delmar Moore Jr., 68, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at his residence.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary; his mother, Alba Wilhoite;  his sons, Jeffrey Scott and Jason Dale Moore; and his daughters, April Darrell, Angie Runyon and Tonya Moore.
    The funeral services were held Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes.

  • Victoria Jordan McCallig

    Victoria Jordan McCallig, 64, of Peotone, Ill., passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at her home.
    Survivors include her husband, Julian Paul Avelis; a daughter, Rachel Avelis of Peotone, Ill.; and a son, Peter Avelis of Peotone, Ill.
    Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Dallasburg Masonic Cemetery in Wheatley.
    Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
     

  • Franklin W. Halfhill

    Franklin Woodrow Halfhill, 73, of Owenton, passed away May 29, 2013, at the Owenton Manor Nursing Home.  
    Survivors include his wife, Peggy Dunn Halfhill; one son, Jonathan Halfhill of Owenton; and six daughters, Connie Smith, Debbie Agrue, Brenda Collins, Sherry Smith, Rachel Newby all of Owenton and Sharon Spaulding of Sparta.
    The funeral services were June 1, 2013, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth. Burial was in the Corinth Cemetery.
     

  • Horace Dawson

    Horace Dawson, 77, of Versailles and a native of Owenton, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013.
    Survivors include his wife Bonnie Dawson; his daughters, Becky (Gary) Hockensmith of Frankfort, Barbara (John) Boren of Versailles, and Heather (Eric) Schneider of Indiana.
    The funeral services were held Friday, June 7, 2013, at the Clark Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
     

  • Christine Nall Winkle

    Christine Nall Winkle, 89, of Owenton, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
    She was the widow of Eugene Winkle.
    She is survived by her son Barry Winkle; and her daughter, Wanda Price.
    The funeral services were held Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Main Street location of the McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery.

     

  • William “Carey” Vannarsdall

    William “Carey” Vannarsdall, 89, of Jonesville, passed away, Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the New Horizons Medical Center.
    Born April 6, 1924, in Jonesville, he was the son of the late William and Susie Perry Vannarsdall.
    He was preceded in death by his siblings, Agnes Noel, Olan, J.C., Frank and Joe Vannarsdall.
    Carey was a devout member of the Concord Baptist Church where he served in the capacity of Sunday school teacher, deacon, Sunday school superintendent and moderator.

  • Stephanie Kaye Beverly

    Stephanie Kaye Beverly, 40, of Paris and formerly of Owenton, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2013, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
    Survivors include her parents, Buck (Pat) Beverly of Owenton and Sherry (Keith) Shelburne of Paris; and her son, Ethan Beverly.
    The funeral services were held Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the McDonald & New Funeral Home. Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery.

  • Alice Frances McManama

    Alice Frances McManama, 83, of Owenton passed away, Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Owenton Manor.
    She was the daughter of the late Willie and Alma Rice Riddle.
    Survivor include her stepson, Gary McManama of Fountain Run.
    The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. The funeral services will begin at 2 p.m.
    Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.

  • Dean Riddle

    Dean Riddle, 73, of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at his residence.
    He was the son of the late Leonard Riddle and was preceded in death by his wife Ann Morgan Riddle.
    Survivors include his mother, Mary Coleman Riddle; his son, Nicky (Ginny) Riddle of Tennessee; and three daughters, Deanna (Tommy) Tackett and Donna (Al) Gomez and Mitzy Lynn Riddle.
    The funeral services were held Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Burial was in the Monterey Cemetery.

  • Larry Edward Cook

    Larry Edward Cook, 67, of Dry Ridge and a native of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Grant Manor.
    He was the son of the late Harold Edward and Anna Chrisman “Chris” House Cook.
    Survivors include his wife, Carol Burke Cook; and his daughters, Kimberly (Chris) Hearn, Jennifer (Ronnie) Cavins, Crissy (Danny) Whalen.
    The funeral services were held Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the McDonald & New Funeral Home.
