Amber Neal, a victim in Friday’s shooting on Old Columbus Road, points to a bullet hole left in her family’s car by Derrick Mays Thomas of Mt. Sterling. Kentucky State Police said Thomas shot and injured James Neal and his daughter Amber Neal following an altercation with James Neal. Following the shooting, Thomas, fled the scene with Elizabeth Neal and their two young children.

“Return my girls.”
That’s the plea of James Neal, 54, a victim in a Friday night shooting on Old Columbus Road, and the father and grandfather of the girls the alleged shooter had in his car when he fled the scene.
Kentucky State Police received a call at 11:18 p.m., Friday, after Derrick Mays Thomas, 23, of Mt. Sterling, allegedly arrived at 2060 Old Columbus Rd., where an altercation between he and Neal took place.
