We had special guests at church Sunday. Bro. Ross Lishen and his wife, Jean, joined us for worship.
Bro. Lishen was pastor at MBC from 1962 -1964. He also gave the morning message about life lessons. It was a pleasure to have them worship with us. We are always glad to have visitors choose MBC as their place of worship.

  • I love a good conversion story, that moment or series of moments that lead up to a person going from not belonging to Jesus to belonging to him.
I remember telling my friend Mike that it was like getting married. Either you are or you aren’t. I told him you can think you’re married, say you’re married, live with another person as if you’re married, but unless you’ve signed the marriage license and said, “I do,” you’re not married.

  • Since last year I’ve gotten three new podmates at work, all millennials (those born in the 1980s to the early 2000s).
One just turned 30, one just turned 27 and one, at 22, is younger than my favorite denim jacket that I still wear.
I call them my pod kids and they call me their pod mom.
Of the three, the 30-year-old was horrified to learn that she is a millennial. She had me watch a “Millennials in the Workplace” YouTube video that hilariously portrayed her generation as, among other things, always expecting a reward for doing their job.

We had a wonderful fall festival Friday night including good weather, good costumes and good food. Pictures from the festival are on our Facebook page. We will not be hosting the traditional festival on Halloween night at the church.

    Water works
    Oct. 27, 2010

Following two years of construction at the Owen-Franklin County line, residents had the opportunity to take a peek into the newly opened Kentucky American Water treatment plant Friday.
Those who attended were given the chance to take a guided your of the treatment plant and meet with KAW employees during the open house.

  • As an athlete, there is nothing better than the roar of the crowd. Players and coaches love coming on to the court or the field seeing their school colors filling the bleachers.
In an effort to say thank you to those loyal fans, a number of Owen County student-athletes spent Oct. 10 taking part in REBELSoutREACH.
It’s a day for student-athletes to give back to those who support them.
