  • Church News: Salem Baptist

Last Sunday, everyone was welcomed on a cold January morning. Carol blessed us with beautiful music on the piano — how wonderful it is to hear that sound again.
Bro. Jared touched our hearts with the words of God.
"Where Has Satan Found You?" was the message taken from Genesis 44:16, Numbers 32:23, I Peter 2:25, I Peter 5:8, and Malachi 3:10.

The Rev. Wotier’s message, “When Your Weak Faith Needs Strengthening?” was taken from John 6:16-21. When our faith needs strengthening, God puts us in places we don’t want to be and he gives us commands we don’t understand. He does this to help us see things we can’t see about Him. When times are tough, when you think you are going down, He will always be there, when you need Him.
We welcome Colton Stedam by Profession of Faith.
The Deacon of the Month is Danny Jacobs.

  • Church News: Old Cedar Baptist

It was so nice to see so many people in church Sunday despite the cold weather.

  • Church News: New Columbus Baptist

Since pastor Brad Vincent is in Haiti this week with a medical missionary group, we were blessed to have Bro. Matthew David filling our pulpit.
We were very pleased to have several of Bro. David's church family from the Dallasburg Baptist CHurch accompany him. Bro. David spoke of his recent trip to Ethiopia and the continuing need to go out and teach and expose as many groups of people as possible to Jesus Christ and God's Word.

Joe McNay sang and played his guitar to his version of "How Wonderful You Are." We are so blessed with talent in our little church.
"The Attributes of God" from Psalm 66:1-7 was the basis for Bro. Dale's sermon. God is eternal, unchanging, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, holy, righteous, and also a god of wrath.
Happy 25th birthday to Breann Bond. Happy birthday to Sharon Perkins. Happy anniversary to Glen and Ellie Duke.

  • Church News: First United Methodist

Bro. Andy’s sermon was entitled “Love” and came from 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. God loves us for who we are and He’s always willing to forgive us. During the children’s sermon, the kids learned that we can talk to God about anything through prayer.
We’ll be holding another Family Game Night starting at 6 pm. Feb. 5. Everyone is welcome to bring board games.
Our church will also be partnering with the Backpack Program at the schools soon. A list of items needed will be posted on the bulletin board for anyone who would like to donate. If you have any questions, contact Nancy Castle.

  • Church News: Cedar Hill Baptist

A wonderful day of worship and receiving of God’s grace was shared Sunday. Bro. John’s message was from 1 John 1:5-10 on Christians having complete joy.

  • Church News: Caney Fork Baptist

Caney finally got everything cleared so we could meet for services. Seemed almost like a family reunion and we got fed spiritually once again. The choir sang an old favorite hymn, “Blessed Assurance.” Bro. Ed’s message was from Philippians 1:20-24. “Need not be ashamed to be a Christian.” Are we losing why we go to church? Are the social events taking over. Jesus is the way. We seem to be getting out of fellowship in the church. Are we sharing our faith and telling all what Christ has done for us. We should live our life so Christ will be proud.

Bro. John’s sermon was Psalm 119:2, “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies and seek him with the whole heart.”
We, as Christians, who have accepted God should be starving for God’s word. Some claim to know God’s word, but their actions show otherwise.
Special music was performed by Bonnie Woodyard singing “He’ll Roll You Over the Tide;”  and Louise Johnson singing “Life’s Railway to Heaven.”
