To be in the Lord’s House worshiping together should bring a smile to our faces and praise to our lips. Lord, our Lord, how magnificent is his name.
Bro. Steve reminded us that everything we have belongs to the Lord. The sermon was from Malachi 3:7-12 titled “Blessings In Tithes and Offerings.”
Be sure to make your plans for our holiday meal Nov. 27 after the morning service. Please free up the afternoon and bring a dish to enjoy with your brothers and sisters in Christ.

It was a beautiful Sunday coming to the Lord’s House. Bro. Steve delivered a powerful sermon from Malachi 1:6-14. It was diagnosing a sick spiritual life.
The choir will be starting up again. If you would like to lend your voice to the praise of God, let Dave Jones know.
The fall festival will be held Oct. 30 after the morning worship at the church. Bring your favorite soup or chili or sandwiches and enjoy the fellowship and games as we celebrate the time of harvest God has given us.

Bro. Bill’s morning message was from Matthew 18:12-14. Which sheep are we? Are we the one gone astray? What distractions have we bought into that pulled us away from Christ. Are we one of the 99? If we are, we need to take account of those gone astray and reach out to them. Are we the lost sheep that does not see a need for Christ? Jesus Christ wants to embrace us. He seeks continually to love us.

  • Grace Notes by Nancy Kennedy: Uncovering the great cover-up of 2011

In the continuing saga of my ongoing battle over household décor with my husband, this time it’s the back sliding glass door.
But before I get to that, let me back up to say that in the first 30 or so years of our marriage my husband rarely expressed an opinion about how to decorate the house except for one hard and fast rule: I could choose any color to paint the walls as long as it was antique or Navaho white.
Other than that I had free reign — and I love to reign.

  • The sign says: Gone fishin’

Last week while on my stay-at-home vacation, I went fishing.
For billions of people around the world, that news would be a big fat no big deal because it’s done all the time so ho hum, tell me something I don’t know.
However, for me going fishing was a big fat very big deal because it was my first time ever.
At 56, I had never fished before, and for months now I have been wanting to, almost to the point of it being an obsession. I don’t know why I’ve been wanting to fish so badly, only that I have.

Bro. Bill’s message Sunday morning was from Philippines 2:1-4 on “Why I Love the Church.” Through the church, Jesus provides hope, faith, purpose, and love to us. Hope is found in understanding what Christ has done for us (Romans 5:3-4). Hope in Jesus rises above our daily situations.
Sunday evening’s message was from Colossians 3:17 on whatever we do, we do for the Lord. We are to let our light shine for him. We were blessed to have Ashley Smith share her gift of music and her testimony with us.

We were pleased to have Bro. Steve Miller deliver our morning and evening sermons. He reminded us that we each have an adversary, the Devil. We need to be prepared to overcome. Pray for each other, read God’s word and keep our eyes on the Lord.
Pray for our sick: Charles and Joyce Lilly, Lucy Jacobs and Marvin Burford.
You are welcome to come and join in with us at Beech Grove. Praise the Lord this week.
