I have been helping John with the underpinning of his back porch. Charity went to Indiana on Friday to visit her parents. Saturday was her mother’s birthday. I went to church Sunday and did the usual things to keep busy, mostly reading. The mowing has come to a screeching halt. The grass has quit growing and is turning an ugly tan. The creek has dried up. I awoke to news that “Debby” had hit the coast of Florida with 10 inches of rain, high winds and spawned tornados. I’d just like to see a couple inches of rain.

We’ve gotten two good rains and the grass is ready to cut again. I just finished the last section of the yard on Friday. One of the downpours had some wind with it. I didn’t hear it because I sleep like the dead when I go to bed, but Wanda said a tree was dislodged by the storm and fell across part of the road just below her house.

One more game to get through and my life will be my own again till next November.
I got so vocal Saturday night that both indoor pets, Binks and Dobby, asked to go out. It was a great game. I’m just sorry we had to eliminate the other Kentucky team. I was happy to see four Kentucky teams in the tournament.
After today. I promise not to mention basketball again for a while.
