  • Engagement: Adkins-Michels

    Jeff and Pam Michels of Poplar Grove, and Junior and Brenda Davis and Lynn Davis of Wallins, would like to announce the engagement of their children: Owen Robert Michels, a 2001 graduate of Owen County High School, and Terri Michelle Adkins, a 1990 graduate of Cawood High School. The wedding will take place Aug. 20, 2011, in Wallins in Harlan County.

    We would like to announce the upcoming wedding of Amy Kelly and Gary Herring. She is the daughter of Robert and Belinda Kelly. He is the son of Alfa Bowling and Marshall Bowling. They will be united at noon July 16, 2011, at Owenton Church of Christ. All friends and family are invited.

    Gary Gaines, Amanda Gaines and Barbara Daniels are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Robbin Gaines, to Michael Walker of Carrollton.
    Michael Walker is the son of Jeff Walker and Marcie Wiess. The couple resides in Carrollton, where Michael is employed by NAS.
    A wedding is planned for 2 p.m. June 11 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Invitations have been sent, but everyone is welcome to attend.

  • Antrobus-Gaines

    Tom and Sonya Antrobus of Falmouth and Bryan and Tammy Woodyard of Astor, Fla., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brandi Kay Antrobus, to Adam Tyler Gaines, son of Donette and Charlie Gaines of Owenton.
    The wedding is being planned for 6:30 p.m. May 21 at Trinity Southern Baptist. A reception will follow at Stonewood Gardens.
    The bride is a 2006 graduate of Grant County High School and is presently attending Northern Kentucky University. She is employed by the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service.

  • Jewell-Cannon

    Frances, Bobbie Jo and Cody Ray would like to announce the forthcoming marriage of their mother, Billie Ann Jewell, daughter of the late Archie and Stella Gordy, to Donnie Ray Cannon, son of Rachel Cannon and the late Ancil Cannon. The wedding will take place at 6 p.m. May 14 at the Wheatley Community Center. A reception will follow the wedding. Everyone is invited to attend.

    Kevin Stewart and Toni Wagers exchanged vows Feb. 25, 2011, at their home in Owen County. Troy Bramblett performed the ceremony. Many friends and family joined their celebration of love.

  • Denny-Smoot Engagement

    Johnny and Rhonda Denny are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittney Christine Denny, to Christopher Paul Smoot. Chris is the son of Paul and Valerie Smoot. Brittney is a 2008 graduate of Owen County High School and is employed by First Farmers Bank as a teller. Chris, a 2000 graduate of Owen County High School, is a local farmer and owner/operator of Smoot Gate Sales.
    A spring wedding is being planned for April 30, 2011, at 4:30 p.m. at Long Ridge Baptist Church.

  • Cable-Nicholson wedding

    April Sams and Craig Cable would like to announce the upcoming marriage of their mother, Annette Cable, of Owenton, to Patrick Nicholson of Frankfort. The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 14, 2011, at Richland Baptist Church in Hesler.
    It is the bride’s wish that donations be made to Richland Baptist Church in lieu of wedding gifts.
