The Owenton City Council will meet Thursday to vote on the future of the Ford property on SouthMain Street.
The city’s planning and zoning commission met Tuesday and approved the zone change from R-1 (residential) to C-1 (commercial).
The formal request for the change was made by the property’s owner Peggy Ford during an April 31 meeting of the planning and zoning commission.
The city council has the final say on the zone change.
