The Owen County Woman’s Club is a civic organization that emphasizes its dedication to empower the city and county.
Some of its projects are: college scholarships, children’s fund, beautifying the Owenton signs, project graduation, and its annual home tour.
The Woman’s Club will host its annual home tour from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 4.
Tickets are $5 and may be purchased the day of the tour at the Owen County Public Library library or from a club member.
The home of Ms. Betty Lusby, at 1650 Hwy. 127 N, will be on the home tour.
Betty moved into her home Oct. 31, 2007. It is a ranch style with traditional furnishings. The home was completely renovated by the previous owners and features a new kitchen, bathrooms, and hardwood floors. The home has a beautiful sun room furnished with two antique rockers that were used in her previous home.
The beautiful home of Chris and Todd Spurgeon at 4110 Hwy. 127 N will also be on the Woman’s Club home tour.
Chris and Todd moved into their new home November 2004. It’s a two-story house with three bedrooms, a bonus room, formal living and dining rooms, and 2 1/2 baths. They also have a landscaped pool and pool house.
These two homes are a must-see.
