Wheatley residents planning holiday dinner

The Wheatley Community Center Thanksgiving Celebration will be held Nov. 23 at the Community Center.
There will be a planning meeting Sunday afternoon, at 3 p.m. for anyone who would like to help with the celebration.
In other news, a summer project of painting the outside of the center is ongoing.
Two community members have spent numerous hours scrapping and painting the front and one side of the building.
According to statement from center supporters, the hard work of the volunteers has restored the wood and has certainly beautified the building.
Collection from Wheatley residents is being made for the street lights annual fee. The cost of the lights has increased drastically over the years, making it difficult to keep the lights burning.
Organizers are striving to keep the lights on to provide added safety for all who live or travel through the town.
