Vivian Marie Ireland O’Banion passed away on May 5, 2012, at the Owenton Manor Care and Rehab Center, where she lived for almost 12 years, enjoying all the activities; church and bingo being her favorites.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Willie C. O’Banion, who passed away in 1980; her parents, Cecil and Hallie Hudson Ireland; her brother, Garland Ray Ireland; and her sister, Anna Louise Kenney.
Vivian grew up in the New Columbus-Nattie Kentucky area with fond memories of her childhood and country life. She was a beautician for 50 years, enjoying her work and making many friends over the years. She treasured her many years of service to the Owenton First United Methodfist Church, serving as piano and organ player, Sunday School teacher, and M. Y. F. Leader; her church family, her family and friends whom she loved very much.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine Louise and Orlie Raymond Phillips of Owenton, Kentucky; nieces and nephews, her grandpuppies, Pearl and Suzette. She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt and best friend.
The funeral services were held Saturday, May 12, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Owenton First United Methodist Church. Visitation was held at the church Friday, May 11, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m. A Rebekah service was held at the church.
