Two Owenton men were taken to New Horizons Medical Center after being struck by the same vehicle.
The incident happened at 6:40 p.m. Friday, when William Dean and his twin brother Tommy Dean were walking along South Main Street near Owenton City Hall.
According to a press release from the Owenton Police Department, William Dean, 59, stepped out into the southbound lane and was struck by a passenger car driven by 66-year-old Rebecca Seigel of Owenton.
Owenton Police Chief Terry Gentry said Tuesday that speed was not a factor in the incident, but dark clothing and lighting probably were.
Tommy Dean stepped out to pull William back out of the roadway and was also struck by the vehicle.
Both William and Tommy were taken to the New Horizons Medical Center in Owenton for treatment by Owen County Ambulance.
The accident is still under investigation by Owenton Police Officer Steve Miller.
