It was a good day at the Class A Region 5 Meet for the Owen County High School boys track team.
After a third-place finish a year ago the team put together a great day and came home with a second-place finish. The only team better was Burgin.
Several Rebels had outstanding days including Collin Trammel who won his second-straight regional title in the 200-meter dash.
Trammel, along with Paul Banks, Ian Oaks and Chris Smith, made up the 4x200-meter relay team which finished first.
The same four also placed second in the 4x100-meter relay.
Trammel was also third in the long jump.
Hunter Trenary was second in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter run.
Cory Hudnall finished fourth in the 1600-meter and fifth in the 3200-meter run.
Cody Downey was third in the triple jump and Oaks was fourth in the high jump.
Other results included Banks and Oaks finishing fifth and ninth in the 100-meter dash.
Downey was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles and seventh in the 300-meter hurdles. Keith Stout was 10th in the 800-meter run.
Jeremy Smith was 10th in both the shot put and the discus.
Chris Smith was eighth in the triple jump and Downey was seventh in the long jump.
With their win in the 4x200-meter relay, they have earned a trip to the KHSAA Class A State Track Meet this weekend at the University of Louisville.
Trammel also will be going thanks to his win in the 200-meter dash.
Also qualifying are the 4x100-meter relay team and Trenary in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs.
