Track team competes indoors in Louisville

While they await the official beginning of spring, the Owen County High School track team has been running indoors. The team recently took part in the Mason-Dixon Games Indoor High School State Championships in Louisville. The meet was held in the Broadbent Arena.
The meet included 21 girls teams and 26 boys teams from across Kentucky.
For the girls, Helena Kramer finished 22nd in the 60-meter dash. Jessica Wilhoite placed 21st in the 400-meter dash while Mikala Byers placed 15th in the 800-meter run and 16th in the 1500-meter run.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Haley Decandia, Kramer, Wilhoite and Byers placed 11th.
Decandia finished third in the high jump.
Kramer finished 15th in the shot put and Wilhoite took 13th place in the long jump.
For the boys, Paul Banks placed seventh in the 60-meter dash and Nathan Rivera finished 14th in the 60-meter hurdles.
Banks would also finish 14th in the 400-meter dash.
Keith Stout placed 19th in the 800-meter run.
Cory Hudnall finished 11th in both the 1500-meter and 3000-meter run.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Chris Smith, Collin Trammel, Banks and Hunter Trenary placed 12th.
Cody Downey placed 16th in the long jump.
Banks placed 21st in the shot put and Smith came in ninth in the triple jump.
