Tough week for boys soccer

The Owen County High School boys soccer team would probably prefer to forget last week and their time in the Rotary Capital Classic. The Rebels played three games but dropped all three.
The first came Aug. 20 when they took on Frankfort Independent High School.
Owen County would fall 6-2 to the Panthers.
On Thursday night, the Rebels would travel back to Frankfort to take on Western Hills High School. The Wolverines would defeat Owen County 4-0.
The week wrapped up with a contest against Franklin County High School. The Rebels played well but couldn’t find a way to score. The Rebels lost 1-0.
They will now return home to host the Owen County Invitational Tournament on Saturday.
The Rebels will take on Covington Latin with the winner to play the winner of the Carroll County High School versus Holmes game in the championship.
The Rebels won last year’s OCIT when they defeated Carroll County.
Owen County will remain home on Tuesday when they host Gallatin County High School. The Rebels defeated the Wildcats all four times they met last season.
