Third place finishes at NCKC Championships

The Owen County track team enjoyed a successful trip to the NCKC Championships last week in Verona. Both the girls and the boys finished in third place overall.
In the girls meet, Mackinnon McAnally was seventh and Savanah Hubbach 11th in the 100-meter dash. Katie Hensley won both the 200-meter and 400-meter dash. McAnally finished eighth and Hubbach tenth in the 200-meter dash. In the 800-meter run, Allison Bourne placed third and Jessica Herrmann sixth. Bourne finished sixth in the 1,600-meter run with Julie Herrmann seventh and Morrissa McPherson ninth. In the 3,200-meter run it was Julie Herrmann third and McPherson fifth. Makenzie Duncan and McPherson finished second and third in the 100-meter hurldes. Duncan was third and McPherson was sixth in the 300-meter hurdles.
In the relays, the 4x100 meter team was second while the 4x400 and 4x800 meter teams both won their respective races.
In the field events, Duncan was fourth in the high jump while in the long jump, Meagan Bruener was fourth, Cailey Stedam fifth and Abby Bitler seventh. In the triple jump, Bilter finished third and Stedam fourth. Alex Clifton placed third, Kelsi Carter ninth and Kendra Ashby tenth in the discus. Clifton won the shot put with Carter sixth and Bitler seventh. In the turbojav, Clifton finished fourth, Carter fifth and Ashby ninth.
Results from the boys meet include, Tyler Roberts finishing 11th, Dawson Mynheir 12th and Jared Prather 13th in the 100-meter dash. Riley Montague was 12th in the 200-meter dash. Joseph Herrmann was third and Brandon Lewis fourth in the 400-meter dash while Herrmann was fifth, Montague 11th and Westley Johnson 12th in the 800-meter run. Colton Stedam was fifth and Dillon Vinal eighth in the 1,600-meter run. Stedam placed fifth and Isaac Cockrell 11th in the 3,200-meter run. In the 110-meter hurdles, Kyle Lozier was fourth and Lee House seventh while in the 300-meter hurdles it was Lozier fifth and House sixth.
The 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay teams both finished fifth while the 4x400 meter team was second and the 4x800 meter team placed third.
In the field events, Montague was ninth and Hunter Mason tenth in the long jump. In the triple jump, Lewis finished fourth and Lozier eighth. Prather was sixth, Ethan Searcy seventh and Hunter Mason 15th in the discus. Searcy won the shot put with Prather 12th and Mason 18th. In the turbojav, Searcy finished fourth, Prather 16th and Mason 17th.
