State to spend over $500,000 to repair roads in Owen Co.

The Kentucky Department of Transportation recently announced it will pay for over $500,000 for asphalt projects for Owen County.
The renovations are part of a $26 million expenditure the state will be making to improve roadways across the commonwealth.
In Owen County, the project includes:
•  Various routes including a 2.3-mile section of Cedar Creek Road (KY 368) from the county line to Harmony Road;
• A 2.2-mile section of Cull Road (KY 1761) beginning at KY 22 extending northwest;
• A 1.8-mile section of Swope Natlee East Road (KY 2018) from KY 607 to KY 1883;
• A 1.8-mile section of South Fork Road (KY 3215) beginning at KY 22 and extending northwest.
Mago Construction Co. of Bardstown was awarded the contract for $532,305.
Under the project, all the repairs are expected to be complete by June 30, 2014.
